Our Deluxe Thai Buddhist Weddings

The Deluxe Buddhist Wedding is our most popular Buddhist wedding. As it provides just about everything, a couples wants on their special day with their Traditional Thai wedding and it also provides the best value for money.

This is a befitting full day. The Thai wedding starts at day break, with the traditional morning offering to the monks, as has been the tradition for centuries  it is a truly essential part of any Thai couple getting married. This most definitely will be captured by your professional wedding Photographer, who will spend your wedding day with you to capture the bride and groom looking radiantly happy through out their special day.. During your wedding he will take about 600 photographs or more depend on if you have any guests and how many guests you invite. Remember this is not a tourist theme wedding, but a true and proper Thai Buddhist wedding, so lots to experience and capture on film (pixels -more correctly) . The images will be given to you in very large jpegs  on DVD's no need to haul loads prints back home. You have the right to printed as many copies as you like back home. We don't hold them ransom, as so many wedding photographers still do in the west!

You of course have a videographer to record your wedding for prosperity and the enjoyment of family and friends that couldn't make it (or you didn't have to invite). The "videoman" does not record the morning offering as, it is preferred by the monks not to have bright lights first thing in the morning, but your Videographer will be with you for the rest of the day and through evening as well. It will make sure all your friends that see it are envious of your Thai wedding in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

We will provide the hairdresser who will also if desired, apply the make up for the bride. She is experienced with western brides and Thai brides alike, but please bring your favorite makeup shades and brands as here we are limited in the range suitable tones for western skin coloring.


As all brides deserve to look their best on their wedding day, you will be wearing your custom made Thai wedding attire, to the temple. Both the bride and groom with pre-choose their Thai attire style and colours and it will be custom made in order to assure a perfect fit. The wedding  attire of course is yours to keep, and surly will  become a family heirloom. The bride's Thai wedding jewelery is provided, and hers to keep, so the Thai attire can be worn properly back home. They are of course not real gold, but is of a suitable grade for any Thai bride to wear on her wedding day.  You will be able to choose most any Thai style wedding attire and colour, for your Thai wedding, except black. as it is considered an unlucky colour for weddings in Thai culture.

The temple selection is more limited than with the Royal weddings but we certainly do have a range of choices depending on your preferences.  Most couples prefer the teak temple, which is our most popular one and our favorite's as well.  There of course, will be time for photos to be taken in the temple and on the temple grounds, as well as through out the day.

After the temple blessing you may choose to preform, a gesture of compassion, by releasing birds and fish to make merit as a newly wed couple. It is a fun traditional to do.

Then off to the Wedding house. This Thai house is where the musician and village elders will be waiting for you. There the actual Thai wedding ceremony will unite you as a couple for all eternity. It is the northern Thai style Knot Tying ceremony referred to in Thailand as the most romantic of all wedding ceremonies. Rest assured the house is well decorated with seasonal flowers to suit the couples preferences. In the Knot Tying ceremony local elders and any guests will be expected to partake in the ceremony. By offering the couple advise and wishing them the best in their marriage together. The local village Por Nhan, who preforms most all weddings in the our village  will lead your knot tying ceremony. He is actually a very popular "wedding celebrant" locally, and performs Thai weddings outside the local area as well.

Once the ceremonial showing of the nuptial bedroom is performed. The couple will have the opportunity to present an ancestral offering at the spirit house in the garden, and then often they take a short break to catch their breath or share some romantic moments or maybe take a few more photographs in the garden before returning to the house. At the house the couple will be treated to a traditional northern Thai feast, which cuisine is not readily available outside the north, and is a cuisine which is a true gastronomic delight.  After experience this meal you will know why northern Thai people are famous for their provincial cuisine and love of food.  While eating and relaxing one will enjoy listening to the melody of the classical northern Thai musicians.

After the feast is concluded you and your guests will be releasing the symbolic "9 Kom Loi " to send away any bad luck, in order to allow good luck to enter your life as a new couple.

Then back inside the wedding house for some tropical fruit and to relax or maybe some dancing. Or as is often the case some couples wish to retire early the privacy of their nuptial suite with a bottle of Bubbly and a tropical fruit platter.

The following day, after the leisurely breakfast the couple will be returned back to the city, to start their amazing new life together as a newly wed couple.
